This Privacy Notice explains how AccountIQ collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and accounting services. AccountIQ is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
AccountIQ is a service operated by LumenIQ (the "data controller"), a company registered in England and Wales (Registered Company 16878795, VAT Reg No: GB 507 9006 00) with its registered office at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. If you have any questions about this notice or how we handle your data, contact us at team@accountiq.uk.

3. How we use your information and our lawful bases
We process your personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and secure the service, and to administer your account (performance of a contract).
- To respond to waiting-list registrations and tell you when access becomes available (legitimate interests and, where required, consent).
- To process payments and manage subscriptions (performance of a contract).

4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf (for example, hosting and email-delivery providers), and only to the extent necessary to provide the service. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to keep your information secure and to use it only for the purposes we specify. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
5. International transfers
Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as an adequacy decision or the International Data Transfer Agreement (or equivalent standard contractual clauses).
6. Data security
We provide multiple layers of protection for the personal and financial information you trust to AccountIQ. Measures include encryption of sensitive data, role-based access controls, two-factor authentication, and a full audit trail of changes within your account. While no system can be guaranteed completely secure, we work continually to protect your information and to maintain the integrity of our systems.
7. Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as is necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, tax and accounting record-keeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Waiting-list details are retained until you ask us to remove them or are no longer needed for the purpose for which they were collected.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request erasure of your information in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to our processing of your information;

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at team@accountiq.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
9. Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies that are necessary for the website and service to function, such as keeping you signed in and protecting forms against cross-site request forgery. These cookies do not track you for advertising purposes.
